PatternMaker and content aware fit

"Content aware fit" is an InDesign feature that automatically fits content into a frame. If you have content aware fit enabled as the default frame fitting option, when you create a new pattern with PatternMaker, the pattern or barcode will shift within the frame.

You can turn content aware fit off, and then the patterns won't shift when they're created. To do this:

  1. Open InDesign's preferences (InDesign > Preferences > General on Mac, Edit > Preferences > General on Windows)
  2. At the bottom of the screen, uncheck the option to have content aware fit be the default frame fitting option.Screen_Shot_2021-11-13_at_9.52.35_PM.png
