Changing data sources in a document

Say you have a document you've created in DataLinker, and you want to reuse it but with a different CSV data source.  In other words, you want to update the data in an InDesign file using a different CSV file than you used originally. This is possible with DataLinker.

  • First, you'll need to create a data source for each CSV file you want to link to in DataLinker
  • Once you create your catalogue with one data source, you can change the data source in the document by choosing DataLinker > Utilities > Rename data-source in doc.
  • You'll be prompted for the old data source name and the new data source name. Click okay, and the data source will be updated.

  • Synchronize the document, and the new data source will be used

Note that the column names need to be identical in both data sources for this to work.
